Cycling from Ghana to Nigeria

20th - 26th August 2018

Village of Hope Orphanage

One of the major challenges and hindrances to progress in agriculture within Ghana is around the rising case of malaria, particularly in the wet season, a period which often requires greater productivity from our farmers. As such, we have determined to join the global fight '#malariamustdie' by raising money towards this cause to protect the farmers and their families we interact with together with children from the village of hope orphanage for a full year by raising money towards essential equipment for Village of Hope hospital. As such, 4 man team will be partaking in a sponsored bike ride from Accra to Lagos setting off on World Mosquito Day, (Which is observed annually on 20 August, and is a commemoration of British doctor Sir Ronald Ross's discovery in 1897 that female mosquitoes transmit malaria between humans.)

We aim to raise $20,000 towards the fight and have partnered with Ghana Bamboo bikes who kindly donated bamboo bikes, to add to our growing list of sponsors, including @Greenrootsgh farms, @N8tivebar, Village of Hope orphanage, Decathlon Ghana, Joy fm, Africa feeds, Osanim Systems and Aviadev. We will be inviting media partners (Joy fm and Africa feeds and Aviadev) to join in this cause and promote on their social media platforms at the conclusion of the event. Look forward to having your support!
